Why is my account balance negative?

When you make your Net+ Prepaid Mastercard®* transaction at an ATM or POS, our systems check your NETELLER Account balance to ensure you have enough funds in your account to cover that transaction. However, the transaction then waits in pending status until we receive financial confirmation from the merchant. Once we receive financial confirmation, the transaction is completed and your money is released to the merchant.

However, when there is significant lag time between the authorization of your transaction and the actual funding of your transaction, currency exchange rates may fluctuate.  Although there has been enough funds in your NETELLER Account to cover the transaction when it was first authorized, if exchange rates have changed, there may not be quite enough to cover the transaction once it is confirmed. In these cases, a binding agreement has already been made with the merchant to pay for the transaction, so your NETELLER account may end up negative by a small amount.

This is not common, as currency fluctuations usually remain within a few cents. If it does happen, however, please simply fund your NETELLER Account by any means to restore your account to a positive balance.
