What is Strong Customer Authentication?

Strong Customer Authentication is a newly introduced European regulatory requirement which aims at making online payments more secure and comes into force on the 14th of September, 2019.


What is changing?

As a result of these recent changes in the industry in some occasions (when logging in or completing a transaction) we may ask you for additional authentication either via a 6-digit SMS code sent to your mobile phone or by clicking on a verification link sent to your registered email address. This will improve your account’s security and the security of your payments.  


How to add a phone number or change the already registered one?

To add a phone number or change an already registered one, click here and click on ‘Edit’ next to the primary phone number added upon sign up. We’ll verify your phone number through a 6-digit SMS code before we save it in your profile. Note that if you are unable to use a mobile phone for the authentication you also have the option to perform the authentication by clicking on a verification link sent to your primary email address.


How to edit your registered email address?

If you need to update the email address of your account follow the steps below. Please note that you may update your email address once you account has been successfully verified. For more information on how to verify your account click here.

  1. In the 'Settings' section of your NETELLER account click on ‘Email preferences’.
  2. Click on the ‘Edit’ button next to your email address.
  3. Enter the desired email address and click ‘Save’.
