What is two-step authentication?

Two Step Authentication is an added security measure available on your account. It provides an additional layer of security to your account by requiring a code from your smartphone to be entered along with your email and password. The code then is used to sign in to your NETELLER Account or on a merchant cashier page in place of the Secure ID.

Two-step authentication is not available for Windows Phone.

 

What do I need in order to use two-step authentication?

  1. Android device (v. 2.1 or later) or iOS device (v. 5.0 or later) or Blackberry (v. 4.5 – 7.0)
  2. Google authenticator app must be installed on the member’s mobile device.
  3. Verification codes can be generated with or without a cellular or network connection.

How do I enable two-step authentication?

  1. Once signed in to your NETELLER account, go to the Settings page and click on Security.
  2. By default, two-step authentication is disabled. Click Enable to start setting up two-step authentication.

 

3. If you have not previously entered your Secure ID in the current session, you will be required to enter it before continuing the flow. If you cannot remember your Secure ID, you can click the Reset Secure ID button. 

4. Select your device from the list of supported devices, click Continue and follow the on-screen instructions for your specific device.
 

How to enabling  two-step authentication on an iOS device?

Scan the barcode provided, this should be stated as the preferred method of setting up NETELLER on the Google Authenticator app. If you are unable to scan the barcode, you should click “Can’t scan the barcode?” to view manual entry instructions.

Next time you submit your email address/account ID and the password when you sign into your NETELLER Account you will get a pop up to enter in the authentication code.

Experience will vary depending on whether or not you are already a Google Authenticator user.

 

How to enable two-step authentication on an Android device?

How to enable two-step authentication on a Blackberry device?

Blackberry users cannot scan a barcode and must follow the manual entry instructions.

 

How do I the use two-step authentication?

Signing in to NETELLER

Go to https://member.neteller.com and sign into the member’s account as usual.

If you have two-step authentication enabled, you will be asked to enter the unique one-time authentication code generated by your mobile application.

1. Use the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device to generate this authentication code.

If all sign in details and your authentication code are correct, you will be signed into your NETELLER Accoun

INCORRECT SIGN IN/AUTHENTICATION ATTEMPT:

If any portion of your sign in attempt is incorrect - including the Two-step authentication code - you will be returned to the sign in form and presented with the standard error message of: "Some of the information you have entered is incorrect."

The you will be required to re-enter ALL sign in credentials at this point.

 

How to use NETELLER at a merchant site (cashier page)?

  1. Initiate your transaction on the merchant site as usual.
  2. Where the merchant asks for your NETELLER Secure ID, you will now be required to enter your unique one-time authentication code generated by your mobile application.
  3. Use the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device to generate this authentication code.
  4. Enter the code in the space that asks for your NETELLER Secure ID.

 

How do I disable two-step authentication from my NETELLER Account?

  1. Go to https://member.neteller.com and sign into your NETELLER  Account.
  2. Once signed in, go to the Settings page and open the Security section.
  3. Click Disable    
  4. In the disable two-step authentication window, click Disable again.                                       

After completing the steps above, the Two-step authentication is no longer active on your account.

NOTE ABOUT DISABLING TWO-FACTOR AUTHENTICATION

All devices allow the owner to remove accounts from Google Authenticator. Removing an account on a user's device does NOT mean that two-step authentication has been disabled on his NETELLER Account.

If you removed NETELLER Account from your device and attempt to sign in to your NETELLER, you will still be challenged with the two-step authentication code. If this happens, you will need to .
